1835 Afternoon Costume
POH1835

This dress is constructed in the large sleeve-style of the 1830s known as “gigot.” The full, ankle-length skirt is attached to a separate high-waisted bodice with hooks and eyes. Based on an original costume of brown watered silk and worn over full petticoats, which is in the possession of the Wisconsin Historical Society. The Package includes patterns for bodice, skirt, and perlerine (a scarf-like cape). It is part of WHS' discontinued pattern line which won't be reprinted, once the last copies are gone.
