Not to be confused with modern day cufflinks these so-called sleeve buttons are the period way to button the cuffs of your 18th C. shirt or shift. They are believed to have been worn by men and women alike and were common with all social ranks.

Shirt and Collar Studs (Dress Buttons)

Brass buttons for formal wear - just perfect for tuxedo shirts! From the 19th C. onwards formal shirts were buttoned with removable studs. To wear them you need a shirt with two rows of button holes. Our studs are available in two versions: the shirt stud (with flat head on the back) is used down the center front, the collar stud (with round head on the back) to hold a removable collar on or, but they can also be used on the cuff. Details
