Picnic Bag 1900
The picnic bag without an inner tin case was an absolute novelty in Germany at the beginning of the 20th Century. It soon became a popular accessory because it offered enough space for all those picnic goods and folds up easy after use. And of course it makes a stylish handbag, too! This pattern is based on an original of 1903 made from brown cotton with bronze colored silk embroidery. Laundry Bag
Our laundry bag with cross stitch embellishment is a wonderful redwork project. The embroidery patterns included are so versatile, they can be used for many different projects like table runners, towels or pillow cases. Contains detailed instructions to make the bag, the cross stitch patterns for the dragon motif and ornaments plus the wave band. The trimmings framing this band were sewn on to the original, but if desired you can embroider them by hand, too. Included are several patterns to choose from. It perches lightly on top of the head, slightly forward, and held in place with hat pins. Four crown heights allow for a wide variety of styles. Made with millinary wire, the hat is very durrable and holds a good shape. We provide directions for one method of covering the frame during making up.
