Used to carry around all those little things, toys and gems a woman liked to have handy or show off to jealous onlookers, a Chatelaine (also called Equipage during the 18th C.) was the pride and joy of every lady. While an 18th C. woman would have worn it to display her valuable pocket watches and precious little novelties, its 19th C. wearer would have been much more pragmatic by attaching little sewing accessories.
